On May 19 local time, a shocking helicopter crash occurred in Iran. The accident site was near the Varzagan area of East Azerbaijan Province.
The Iranian on the plane was Iranian President Raihi, who had just met with Azerbaijani President Aliyev and took the helicopter back to his country. Also on Raihi’s helicopter were Iranian Foreign Minister Abdullahyan and the governor of East Azerbaijan Province.
It was not until the 20th that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran confirmed that Turkey’s drones and helicopters found the heat source of the helicopter wreckage through thermal imaging cameras. It was finally confirmed that all 9 people on board, including President Raihi, were killed.
At present, many countries in the international community have expressed condolences for the Iranian president’s plane crash.
